A Maryland judge has set a November trial date for Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon following two new indictments on theft and perjury charges.
The Nov. 9 trial date was worked out Wednesday during a conference between Dixon's lawyers and state prosecutors, the Baltimore Sun reported. Dixon's lawyers said she intends to plead not guilty.
The mayor was originally indicted in January on charges that included stealing gift cards that were supposed to be used by needy Baltimore residents and failing to report gifts from her former boyfriend, developer Ronald Lipscomb, on ethics forms.
