Dr. Pearl K. Ford is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Arkansas. She is also affiliated with the African American Studies Program. Dr. Ford’s research interests include African American political behavior, the intersection of race and class and electoral behavior. She is currently working on an edited volume entitled African Americans in Georgia: A Reflection of Politics and Policy in the New South. The book is under contract with Mercer University Press. A native of Savannah, Georgia, she earned a B.A. in political science from Savannah State College and the Ph.D. in Political Science from Howard University.
